A backsplash you probably outdoor because like with a counter you don’t have to keep wiping it down I would use a roller small one.you. Outdoor eather do one square at a time or roll over all then figure something for the grout later maybe paint it.use a semi gloss to wash it .

Just like with cabinetry, you want to give your paint the best surface possible to adhere to. Use a high quality primer to prime your tile backsplash. You can buy Tile stickers or Self adhesive tile covers or transfers in may designs styles and also plain colours. You could freestyle with Sharpie pens or use mirror tiles too..............Have fun...

Yes you just need the correct paint. Try oil based made for tile
