How do I change my kitchen tile backsplash?

I have the std, 4x4 tile back splash and I want to change it without spending a fortune. First of all can I leave the tiles and just put an application over it? I was thinking of doing Fasade. If I have to remove it I think that would require replacing the Sheetrock? Am I correct. Do I need a contractor for that? How much would that run?

Old tiles would need to be removed. Shouldn't be too much damage to the drywall. Just use drywall patching compound to patch any damage. Fasade are beautiful dimensional tiles.
You can put peel and stick tiles over old ones.
