Hi Tina, First off, what is on your bathroom floor now? It is good to start fresh with the subflooring rather than tile on top of anything. What type of tiles do you want to use? OR do you want to tile your walls?
Let us know a bit more and the helpers can give you some ideas.
Good luck!

Hi Tina,
Do you have a Habitat for Humanity Restore in your area? Many times they have boxes of ceramic flooring for inexpensive cost. They get donated by builders or people who have excess. Otherwise, try Home Depot or Lowe's, they have good sales and also staff who can assist you. For the flooring typically the thickness of the tile is more than the wall tiles would be since it has to withstand the weight of walking on it.
You will need cement backer board and a waterproofing system for the shower such as this: https://www.schluter.com/schluter-us/en_US/Shower-System/c/SS
If you are inexperienced in cutting tiles and installing, one place to check for affordable people to do it might be your local community college or trade school...if they have students who are learning they may be able to do it at a lower cost and then have their teachers oversee their work. If you try it yourself you will need good tools, you can rent tools.
Good luck. It sounds like quite a big change for your bathroom.
