Does wallpaper need to be removed before tiling a bathroom wall ?
I have an entire bathroom that is wallpapered yes , including the ceiling do I need to remove the wallpaper before I tile ?
If you've never done tile before, and after you've removed the toilet, start there. You will get the hang of it in an area that not's so visible. Work up the wall and don't rush the job. Good luck.
You need to lay your tile pattern out first (dry fit), before starting on Wall. Do you have your chalk lines marked?
As for the tiling, home depot and lowes have classes to teach you how to tile. But, what kind of sheetrock did you use? Green board or another moisture resistant board is the proper kind to use. Moisture is a problem that can cause quite a bit of problems if a bathroom is not done correctly.
Green board, blue board, or moisture resistant board is only needed around a shower or tub. Lay your tiles on the floor against the wall first before you put them on the wall. You want any cuts to end up in the corners and both sides to be even. You don't want to end up with a sliver of a cut tile in a corner. Move the tiles left or right until any tiles you need to cut are even in both corners. Then start to put the tiles on the wall.
thank you all for the help
