Sealing grout on ceramic or stone tile is recommended with grout sealer.

You really need to seal the grout or it will discolor quickly and then be almost impossible to clean.

But isn’t that supposed to be done by the pro who installed the floors? But legitimate question if you did it yourself. I don’t know the answer. I’d look for blogs on ” best way to seal newly tiled floors”.

It's generally good to seal grout and tile. Talk to the installer about the best sealer for your type of floor, or someone at a home improvement store.

Yes, we installed 1,800 foot of tile & didn't seal - Very Bad IDEA !!! Sally, we all have to do research to teach us how to do a lot of fun projects. Check with Lowes or Home Depot. Rick Allen

I agree with Jcraw & AmAtHome about installer should have asked if you wanted it sealed. I had a pro from Boston & he said it wasn't necessary. Later I found out the hard way he was WRONG !!! Rick Allen
