Can tile be removed from shower floor and still save the shower pan?

What is the best way to remove tile to be able to save the floor and shower pan under the tile floor?

Be gentle. Seriously. No more tricks than that. But if you are going to all of this trouble, why would you take a chance by reusing a relatively inexpensive item?
Tile is pretty easy to remove. Just break it in one spot and then use a strong putty knife to start lifting it off. The pan will depend on it's condition. They due tend to get rusted out. I actually had a shower hat was on a concrete slab and had no pan. You'll see how everything goes once you get into it.
