How can I recover existing tiles with peel and stick ones?
I have an existing tile backsplash in my kitchen. Due to disability I cannot remove them to replace with new ones. Is it possible to place peel and stick tiles over them? Would I have to prepare the surface somehow? My hands are the issue so it needs to be fairly easy. Thank you for any suggestions.

Sue, I'm sure you can do this. Look at these videos and at least one of them will lead you through it. You do not have to remove old tile.

Always best to remove the old tile. Any imperfections and grout lines can transfer to the peel and stick. Also they need a smooth solid base to adhere.

The peel and stick backsplash tiles are kind of squishy. They won't last forever, but they are very easy to install. Clean the surface thoroughly. The ones I've installed use a dilute solution of dishsoap and water. Spray on the surface, this allows open time so you can reposition the adhesive tiles, then press out airbubbles. The adhesive becomes permanent as the soap solution dries.
Yes, you can put these over existing tiles. A backsplash has very little wear and tear, so it will be semi-permanent.
Hi Sue! We covered the outdated backsplash in our kitchen with peel-and-stick vinyl decals from this website:

They totally transformed the space and look great! I hope this helps.
