How do I create a 10x10 Mosaic on a bare concrete wall behind my home?

When you walk in my home you can see straight through to the back yard. The distance from my Patio to the back concrete wall is between about 35 and 45 ft. The concrete wall is grey and plain. I have had this idea since seeing an article in Hometalk about the home where hugh flowers were painted on the back of the house to create a beautiful patio area. I am so excited, but I don't know where to start. Please help.

How do you want to do a mosaic on your patio? What kind of material do you want to use? And personally, I've not had any luck with painting concrete, it always gets scratched and peels. We prepped it properly, but no luck here. It looks good for a little while, then it gets ugly.

Hmmm, if painting won't work, how about putting a 4x8 sheet of plastic lattice there and hanging decorative items or potted plants on it or planting bushes and flowers in front of it. It might work better to put in a couple of posts and mount it a foot or two above the ground. Or forget the lattice and create bottle trees with the posts, really long nails (eave spikes) and colored bottles.

Hi LeeLee, your idea could be a striking addition to your home. It would draw the eye right out to your fence. Great! One as large as you are planning is going to take some time, but could be so beautiful. Here's a link with some tips about mosaic outside in general. Do you have a specific scheme in mind? I hope you post you project, if you decide to do it....we'd all love you to share what you do.

Great ideas everyone and thank you. Does anyone have a photo of the home featuring the patio redo, that had huge red flowers painted on the patio wall? If you do please post or tell me where to find it. I'd like to recreate that design on my concrete wall with mosaic.
