My new home is 4 months old and the caulk and grout are already crack
My home is only 4 months old the caulk and grout are cracking around the edges of the tile in the kitchen and bath. Is it normal for new grout to crack?
Matching the color of the old grout is usually a challenge, but if you can find something that works, we've had success patching grout.
Dig out as much of the old grout around the crumbled section and check other areas for weakness too. Use a shop vac and a grout scraper or a screwdriver of you can't find anything else. Be careful not to chip/scratch the tile.
Mix and spread the grout as you usually would, working it into the broken area as much as possible. Wipe down and seal all the new and old grout when dry. Good luck
You'll have to remove all the old in that spot and replace it with new grout. Hopefully you've got some leftover from when it was installed but if not, you should be able to get a close match.
