Hi Lou, that's really a personal choice. I know some people who don't like the diagonal look at all and others who absolutely love it. I would lay out quite a few tiles in a dry fit first, both square and diagonal, to see which one really appeals to you. If having your floor professionally done get a quote for both. Diagonal always costs more, so that might also affect your decision.
