How do I install press-on wood strips onto an accent wall?

I would start with a level, a pencil and a measuring tape . You want them them level. Go by the specific product directions for your wood strips. Make sure your wall is dust free and dry.

I have done this once. I made sure the wall was clean, removed all outlet covers and started at the top. I used i mitre saw with a blade for laminate to cut the pieces to size so it was a nice sharp line. Just work your way down following the directions!
