Ever wondered if there was another fun use for your inflatable kiddie pool in the off-season? The answer is a cozy and comfy kid lounge! It’s a super quick and easy DIY project with only a few supplies, and you can customize it to your liking in different ways.

Inflatable kiddie pool

Air pump

Pillows

Blankets

Extras (if desired):

Potatoes (used for stamps)

Affordable acrylic paint

Ball pit balls

Poster board (or used cardboard)

Deck lights

Galaxy projector

I started with the obvious task of blowing the kiddie pool up with my affordable air pump.

If you want to add some personality to your kiddie pool lounge, you can cut 3 potatoes in half to use for polka dot stamps. So easy!

Choose your favorite paint colors and pour some out onto your poster board (or used cardboard).

We invited some neighbor kids over to help add the colorful polka dots. they had a lot of fun and the project moved along super quickly with four kids helping.

The kids worked their way around the inflatable pool until they were happy with the results. The acrylic paint we used is not permanent and will fade over time, but it’s a fun, affordable, easy, and cost effective way to fun it up!

While they waited about an hour for the paint to fully dry, I went through the house to gather pillows and blankets.

Once the paint was dry, I moved the pool into our recently updated sunporch and quickly tossed in the pillows and popped some popcorn.

The kids had a blast watching a movie in their up cycled kiddie pool lounge. So cute and comfortable. It’s been a huge hit and gets even more than we ever expected.

I highly recommend this super easy DIY kiddie pool project!

It would work perfectly for a slumber party or a kid’s birthday party!

And here’s a look at our sunporch movie lounge at night time. I plugged our galaxy projector in for some extra fun!

OMG!! 1 question: Is it a REQUIREMENT that I have young children?

I'm doing this for ME! No one has to know, right? On the occasional Monday night football game, and my boyfriend is working, I can just chill out! Love it!!!

When our boys were little we did the same thing, each of them had a small pool with numerous pillows, so they could lay in their pools, relax and read. I like Bub's idea as well putting the baby in a pool for safety reasons, makes sense.
