I found an old colander at Goodwill and gave it a new purpose! A succulent planter! Wouldn't this be a great gift idea?
There's nothing I love more than aqua blue and succulents!
I found this old colander at Goodwill and knew just what to do with it!

I gave it a couple of coats of Rust Oleum's Aqua spray paint.

Next, I added some gravel to the bottom of the colander for good drainage.

A layer of dirt was added.

I added in my gorgeous succulents!

Last but not least! I added in gravel on top!

Gorgeous plants! Succulents are my favorite!

Love!

I have succulents in a small bird cage probably used for a wedding that I found at Savers and lined with a coco liner before filling with soil and plants. They are doing great so now I will have to try them in a collander too. Great idea!

Love it! I just bought a vintage plain metal colander at a garage sale today. I think I'd seen this post before, because I had absolutely no use for the colander but bought it anyway. Can't wait to try it!
