I have a big roll of cable and I am trying to think of something I can do with it. Not sure if it would work to run between post and let vines grow up it would work. May not be stout enough. Any ideas?

I think it's a good idea to repurposed that cord! If it were me I'd build a maypole.Put a stake in the ground...a small piece of flat wood nailed on the top perpendicular to the ground and drape lengths over towards the ground like spider legs. Any type of runner bean will grow up most anything...! I'd plant 2 bean seeds where each cord met the ground...as long as it is near the bean plant when it sends up its runner you're in business!

@Forestine M I think there are many ways of making it into a trellis structure, criss-cross it on a fence - plant climbing flowers like sweet peas, morning glories etc. Make a box frame and plant a clematis and watch it climb up higher every year and become thicker - really makes a great eye catcher. Could also be used to anchor saplings to a stake - the soft cord wouldn't injure the plant. Perhaps you could also spin it around a planter for a different look. Very challenging question, I am sure you will have my head spinning for a while. Thanks for posting.

It might make a cool gift (for an electrician) repurposed as an office chair. Remove cane backing and seat, and replace with your wire weaved for these areas. Give the frame a fresh coat of paint, maybe put some wheels on the chair.

wonder how it would look to wrap the cord around cracked pots and urns? Just a thought... Could paint if desired.

All such good ideas! Another one or two, make a bird condo by attaching small houses to it with some room in between, tie it off between two existing plants or trees, that are out of the way of walking traffic and high enough so cats dont have an easy feast! Another thing would be to start shaping it into a ball with some space in it wrap clear twinkly lights around it and hang it in an entry way or out in the garden where there is a power source.

It can be used for temp annual vertical gardening. Cut a long piece and attached to a sunny outside wall and shorter pieces to hang for this like tendrils . Put your potted veggies in front and watch your garden grow. Take down after the season and put away for next year!
