Sand lightly and paint , then use for storage of flour, oats, sugar and other food stuff you can find in bulk.
Paint all black or orange and cut ghost or jack o'lantern faces out of the sides, placing battery powered tea lights in them for Halloween to line your porch.
Use them to store nails or something in the garage . They look pretty sturdy .
Paint them. Weight them , Stick and Stack them into a Totem Pole for the Season
SUMMER - AUTUMN - WINTER etc..
You could use one for a coin bank. The jugs would make a good pot for large arrangements. If you like rustic looking leather try covering with pieces of masking tape and use paste shoe polish to make the leather look. It really does work and the texture of the masking tape gives it the right texture.
If they were mine I would make canisters out of them. Remove labels and wash well, fill with flour, etc. and then paint labels on them or use a sticky label.
Fasten together and make footstools, or extra seating for outdoors. Birdhouses.
C.D.s idea is great. And you could use some chalkboard paint to do a fancy little spot in front to write what is in them!
