You could make a brick path. If they have holes in them you can use them for candle holders or to hold succulent plants. You can make brick edging for flower beds, build a brick pedestal for a birdbath. I saw one site where they painted them to look like books, with the outside edge as a book binding and used them as decor. You can make a tree ring around trees in your yard. You can make raised garden planters with them or use them as garden markers.
How many do you have? I love bricks. Line walkways or flower beds to keep mulch in place, make tree rings, use to elevate small pots in a grouping.
Hello Angie, You could build planters with your bricks. You could also use them to make walk ways even on existing concrete. You could use them to make an outdoor grill or how about a bar for your backyard? You could also put them around a tree, bush, etc. 6 - 8 bricks high and plant flowers inside the ring. That would look really nice. Have fun and enjoy your bounty. Good luck.
Make a walking path using them as pavers or stack the bricks foe a flower bed border.
make a brick platform for your grids to sit on.
Old bricks are great. you use them to add character in a flower garden or landscape. If they are broken , You can put them in the bottom of flower pot for drainage. paint them to look like your favorite books - looks good as garden art or as a gift. Cover them in felt, vintage fabric or cross stitch ( with a little padding) and use as a door stop. cut them into the shape of a house and then paint doors and windows.
We gave my father-in-law a party. He was a very county man. He well qualified for the term redneck. My husband and I decorated the tables with "outdoorsy" things.
We washed some rugged looking bricks. We made center pieces with bricks and Mason jars filled with pebbles with a candle on top. Running a strip of burlap on the tables tied everything together.
At a store we purchased ferns. Two centerpieces per table seems like an expensive project. It really wasn't. I used the Mason jars for canning the bricks were from our yard. Burlap is cheap. We found small ferns and divided them up to fill in empty spaces.
The tables were a hit. I wish I had taken photos. My husband and I catered the party so we were too busy to think of it.
We used bricks to extend our front porch. It was only four foot wide. With a bench, pot plants, and a table, it was really crowded. We added two more feet to the porch using old bricks. After we laid the bricks down, we poured bags of sand on top of the bricks. Using a broom, spread the sand until it fell between the bricks, it locked the bricks into place.
