Paint it white, line with plastic and plant flowers in it, indoors or out. Handles can be painted different color, or wrapped with rope or twine for a different look.

What about painting it and lining it and turning it into a jewelary box??

Use it to contain small items.

1). Line each compartment with felt or velvet and store your jewelry.

2). Line with paper or cork and organize your small hand tools, arts & crafts supplies.

3). First aid kit or medicine (you can add a locking clasp to this).

    4). Makeup supplies

5). Store your spices where they won't be subject to sunlight and moisture.

6). Store the small things that get lost in a desk or kitchen drawer. (batteries, paper clips, extra staples for stapler, utility knife and extra blades, tweezers, etc...)

Decorate the outside too with paint, stain or other embellishments.

You could use it as a jewelry box, or use it as a planter for faux succulents. You could paint it and use it to store office supplies, like rubber bands, paper clips, etc. Or use it in the kitchen to hold different flavors of tea bags.

Try not to wet, paint, sand or glue it or you will destroy the value. Consider using boxes as inserts. Use it for whatever storage, but try not to gild the lily.

Ohhhh...I'd open it up completely (like in the first photo) and sit a piece of glass on top. PRESTO! Instant coffee/side table! Then you could paint it or whatever. You could also line the insides of the boxes with fabric.

As soon as I saw it, I pictured small dolls or other girl small collectable toys. Girls love to put them in fun boxes with compartments. Of course paint it a fun color. Makes me want to go get one for my granddaughters.
