I like your address idea. Maybe a game of Frisbee is in your future. Another option would be laying it flat and use as a bird bath or feeder.

We had an old bud (big ugly dish) and turned in upside down and it became the top to our gazebo. If the dish is wire like ours is it might not be the best to display house numbers since the background wouldn't be flat and not a solid color.

You could use a large piece of wood to mount the numbers to and paint the wood so the lettering stand out. Like a white background with black numbers etc.

What color will the dish be and is it wire or solid and how big is it?

People have used these as Ponds, Bird Baths, Planters etc. I should Imagine you could have it standing on edge by using two upright timbers and a cross bar onto which you could fit your dish (Drill and Screw in place) to support your house sign.
