How can I repurpose porch support posts?

It depends on the type of glue you have. If it's a water based white glue you can add a small amount of water and whisk it.
I have used glue for years to crackle paint. It gives painted wood the aged look,the lumpier the glue the better. Paint the wood first if you want color showing thru if not just slap on the glue with a chip brush,let dry' then paint the color you want and watch it crackle as it dries! Latex paint does not work as well as it flexes. Acrylic is best but ive used Chalk Paint also. I've even done cabinets and then used a couple coats of poly for durability. Still looks good 10 years later.
