    @Susan S that was the first thought that crossed my mind when I saw it. @Brooks Custom you can get a better shot of it if you turn off your flash.

    This beautiful slab was just sold...It will live its life as a coffee table with a custom wood base.

    @Brooks Custom - are you making the base for this? If so, will you post a pic when it's done? This is just so beautiful and unusual that the two halves are mirror images of each other. Was this originally a slab that was split in half?

    This slab (and all of our live edge) are bookmatched pieces. I'm not sure if we're doing the base...but, it's going to be something very simple, and really isn't visible unless you step away from the table...Something like this base (sorry for the low quality, this was taken on my BlackBerry). They decided with this piece of Claro, and since it's low-standing, no use making an elaborate base that nobody will really see.

    Thanks for sharing Brooks! Well, the real star is the wood itself anyway. Sure don't want a base too elaborate that will compete for attention!! I'm so envious of the folks that are getting this wonderful one-of-a-kind piece!!

    My uncle used to do the Same Thing... Coffee Table, End Tables and a much Bigger slab he made the Dining Room Table... Still in use today...
