Local police/sheriff dept may take some. They sometimes like to have small stuffed animals to give children when involved in certain situations. EMT and state police also. Check with them and see. Thanks for your question.

Rich is correct. Donate any extras. Consider a toy box to store some of the bulkier items. Plastic bins are great for smaller pieces and stack well. If you get the bins that are clear you can see what is inside. For the very organized take a picture of the contents and tape that on the front. That makes it easier for little ones to put the correct items in the right bin.

Lots of places to donate - but keep this in mind. When I was a young child, my mom kept a small laundry basket in the attic. If we got "extra" coloring books and quiet games from relatives at Christmas/ Birthdays, she would slip some of them into the basket. These reappeared when we were sick, so we would have something new. She also slipped some of the toys we were not actively playing with anymore (maybe because we got some new ones at Christmas) into the basket and then pulled then out when I were bored. They were like new again. This prevented a lot of new stuff always coming into the home. (This was back when we only got toys at holidays, and fortunately my birthday was in the summer) ) I was a much younger child than my brother. She said she did this with my brother as well. Never knew this went on until I was grown.
