How do I repurpose a corner step table into a TV stand?

    It would help to have a picture of your stand. If the top shelf is big enough to hold the TV, I would put it there with any DVD boxes and other boxes arranged on a box on the lower shelf. This would help hide the cords if there is room. You can arrange greenery and/or knick-knacks in front of the box. If not, then put the TV on the lower shelf using the top shelf for a backlight or artificial plant. Put you other boxes in front leaving lots of room for ventilation. If possible, it might help to build a box for the TV to set on with the other boxes in front of that...if you have them...we are in the country so still have to use our DVD player, the DISH receiver, the soundbar, and any other thing we can think of!
