Cover it with mosaic items (can even be more recycled materials like broken glass or dishes) and then put it in your garden like a gazing ball or decoration.
If they are bright colors like the ball picture they would look neat buried halfway in flowerbeds or perhaps even just in the grass in your lawn. Likewise, if you had several, you could make a border for a flower bed or line a pathway.
Contact the local Senior Center. Ours is collecting old bowling balls to make lady bugs, bumble bees and other items that can be used in the garden. Instructions for making these items are easily found on the internet.

I agree with Mogie’s suggestion of a gazing globe. I bought a ball from a thrift store and spray painted it with a shiny chrome. We had a small plant stand it happened to fit on top of.
Make sure the plant stand is firmly in place. This is very top heavy and could be knocked over on someone causing injury unless it is stable. I bent some rebar and pinned the base of the stand to the ground.

Use it in the garden as a gazing globe. I've seen them covered in pennies and glass beads.
Another vote for a garden gazing ball!

A garden gazing ball! I've been hunting for one at garage sales and thrifts. They seem to elude me!
I have seen bowling balls "tiled" with a mosaic patter of broken mirrors. They use a construction adhesive to carefully adhere the mirror pieces to the bowling ball then grout the ball. It was beautiful.
I glued pennies all over it and sealed it really good and placed in a chafing dish holder. I use it in my landscaping decor as a gazing ball. I do bring it in in the winter.
