How can I make a coffee table from a large tree slice?
A "Biscuit" or slice from a large tree can be an intriguing choice for a table but: How long must it dry out? What are some options for legs? Surface can be poured 2 part epoxy or????
My tree person said the pine cut is not a good choice for a table but it has sentimental value once the trees were cut down. Ideas? Previous trials? (I want to use this 28" tree slice (YES! It was a very large, tall pine tree)

Hi Elizabeth,
You sure do have an interesting project!
This is a link on curing your pine biscuit:

Another thought would be to contact a local wood worker(s) and see what they have to say about curing your slice. Looks like humidity also plays a hand in your process too. Maybe they kmow of a place to cure this or have suggestions on how to best handle an at home process.
Best to you on this intriguing project.
Hi Elizabeth. Here are some great posts on how to make the table from your tree stump. Pine is a soft wood but should still work to make a table. Have fun! https://www.hometalk.com/search/posts?filter=diy%20tree%20slice%20table
Hi ! I love your idea of using your tree , and keeping a part of it in your home ! I love tree slice tables , you can buy legs for it at home depot or Lowe's , you will find both wood or metal kinds . To keep the wood from cracking , you can use a product called pentacryl ( I don't have experience with it , I just looked it up ) good luck !!!
