How can I turn a ceiling globe light into an outdoor solar light?

I received 6 of these from a friend. I don’t want to use them in my house but thought that with a little love, they would make a great outdoor solar powered light.

not exactly the same light globe but the principle should be the same.https://www.mainlyhomemade.com/crafts/diy-dollar-store-solar-garden-globe-light/

You will probably need to find a solar light that has a remote solar collector

... one that has a cord connecting the light and the panel...

If you hang the light fixture from chains or cords.. a large solar stake light could fit in the base... but you would need to remove all of the electrical components ... which has to happen anyway.

Note: I would seal or glue the screws in place so they won't accidentally come out and let the globe drop.... and use a silicone around what ever you install to keep out water from rain.

Sue, I love the table and your idea! For solar, you have to have a panel that converts the sunlight into electricity. You won’t be able to put the panel inside the globe, but there are strings of small lights with a solar panel instead of a plug out there. You could put something inside the globes to wrap the lights around, so it glows throughout. The trick will be hiding the wire and finding a sunny spot for the little panel nearby.

Check ECT. COLLECTIONS on the internet for outside solar string lights. Or our Walmart still sells them in their garden center. But you might have to cut the base for the string and solar reflector to be sitting so that the sun will charge it. It won't matter if you use "fairy string lights" or regular size solar lights. BUT I WOULD try to tape the wire to the inside so that they won't fall down. Solar Lights uses 2 AA batteries.

I had the same light over my kitchen sink and this is how I changed it into an awesome solar light. I had a small color changing light and the base broke so I took the solar panel and it fit perfectly over the opening on the globe. I hung the globe with fishing line and now every night I have a glowing color changing light floating in the air. I have attached pictures so this might make more sense to you. Unfortunately I don’t have any night shots at this time.
