How can I use these Formica samples in a DIY project

I have some samples of Formica and I didn't want to just trash them. Can anyone tell me how I might use them in some project? As you can see they are on a chain, so each one has a hole it in. I had wondered about using them to cover the tope of a bureau our desk, but other than that I haven't come up with any ideas.
Any help would be welcome, and if anyone has an idea and would like them, that would be ok also. See attached photo. The larger ones are 3 1/2" x 5", and the smaller ones are 2" x 3".

Draw or glue pictures on them & use as a child's toy for identifying animals, shapes, colors, etc.

Make a super coffee /garden table top done in a brick pattern. The edges (4 corners) etc. and the holes could be in a contrast - wood - stones - beads, glass - set in a glue or resin? You could cover a serving tray base - or a Box - string them up like a Wind Chime for the Garden. Stick them on to a board and use as a Notice board (Easy to wipe clean) - Plant labels if attached to Canes or Sticks. Could be individually tied on to String or Rope and used as either a Bird scarer (around Veg plants) or as Garden bunting type decor..........Have fun........

You could cut them and attach them to maybe plywood in a quilt block. They would be durable to hang for outdoor use on a patio wall or fence. Spray with sealer to make it more durable. You could also paint a few for more color.

Cut off the part with the hole and make a collage with them.

  • Oh yes! You could connect All the holes somehow to make an awesome design or trim the holes and make a beautiful mosaic piece or something ... maybe as a backsplash or on top of a table or something. Happy Crafting 👍
