How can one cut apart and reuse custom sized kitchen cabinets?
The kitchen was last remodeled by the previous owner in the 70's. I'd like to up-cycle these well built custom cabinets in a functionality re-design. Any suggestions?

how about some pictures??
Should you decide you want some open shelving in lieu of your upper cabinets, you can stack them to use as a pantry. The depth is perfect for many things and stuff doesn’t get lost in the back. Great for cookbooks too.
My old wood cabinets were glued and screwed together, painted, and raised on Ikea legs to take advantage of vertical space in my new bathroom/laundry room.
Cabinets are typically screwed together and to the back wall. Measure the cabinets and sketch out a drawing of your reconfigured space. You could even take pictures and cut them out to better visualize? Taking some doors off filling in the screw holes and making open shelving is an option for a display area

Cyn Hello,. Paint them, use high gloss paint. You could put decals on the doors, or stencil it. Aloha!
Any unused cabinets, you can donate to Habitat for Humanity.
If the wood was very dark, sand down to bare wood. Prime if needed, paint and seal. You could also sand and apply a very light stain such as pickled oak in an inconspicuous area to see if you like it. If the cabinets were highly ornamented, remove the detail work and apply simpler trim (i.e.: Shaker styling).
