How do I make a tree branch railing?
I have several small (varying degrees of small) tree branches that I wanted to use for the railing on my outdoor steps.

I love your idea, but remember that the top railing on steps needs to be smooth enough for people to hold onto for safety purposes while going from step to step.

Perhaps I should elaborate...
I've already installed a "Traditional 2×4 hand rail". Now I want to give it some pizazz.

You could swag your branches along the side so to give the you tailing the protection you need for getting up and Down. There is the weaving every second rod do you can still get handrail guidance.....this year I opted to put all the swags on the bottom of my stair rails with lights outside decorations and pine cones. The inside steps I put my swags tied to the middle of the railings to leave the protection on the bannister.
