How do I make use of used cat litter?
I clean my cat's litter box regularly. Discarding all the clumps of refuse. However when I change the litter I have a lot of litter still left over that has tiny particles of cat refuse I suppose. Is there any use of this used cat litter? Is there any value to gardening or making a cement type thing out of it or something? I'm not a genius I need a geniuses help. Or I could just throw it away.

Hi Javier, this is Peggy. This is the only reuse of cat litter I could find. I know just putting it in the trash seems wasteful, and you can try this. Cat urine is very high in nitrogen and may kill your plants so be careful. We just throw ours away. Lightly sprinkling the used litter (not the clumps!) around you're garden every couple weeks will keep rabbits and squirrels away. It only works if the litter is pretty stinky though.
They do make biodegradable corn husk litter now though if you can get your cat to use it. If you use the corn husk litter you can bokashi compost the used kitty stuff and bury it in ornamental flower beds. A friend from my old job does that and her flower beds are amazing with no fertilizing.
I was trying to transition my cat but we currently don't have space for 2 cat boxes. I'll start again after we move.

Hi Javier, I would just throw it away. I wouldn't want to take the chance of their being any chemicals in the kitty litter.
I have five cats all indoors so lots of used kitty litter. I would not reuse it for anything. I would not use it as mulch or put it in my lawn. Sorry I dispose of it.
Six cats in my household, I dispose of it. We still use the old fashioned clay type.
sprinkling in your garden not good it will encourage other outdoor cats to mark or poop there as well;it is not clean full of bacteria some even chemicals it's waste, not sanitary & needs to go in trash
Javier,
If you have any old latex paint that you want to get rid of, add the cat litter to the paint (about equal amounts of paint and litter), let it harden, and then you can throw it in your regular trash.
Very helpful everyone. What I don't use to dry up old paint, I will throw away.
