Remove the doors and make drawers with slides. The old doors might be able to be used as drawer faces. It would look like doors, but function like drawers. I have left doors in place and made shelves the pull out on slides. That was handy for my pots, pans, and Pyrex pans. Fortunately most of our new kitchen and bath are mostly drawers.
You can purchase drawer slides at any good hardware or home improvement center. Even some ready made drawers too. Go check them out before deciding what to do.
