Clean with TSP, sand smooth, remove any rust and treat with rust converter. Spray Rustoleum primer and spray paint. Don't use latex on metal, it will rust. Have fun.

The easiest, & I think the nicest way follows. Get some contact paper with a wood design,..it's easy to do, & finished product will look like a wooden cabinet! Good luck.

I would clean it up, paint it with exterior metal paint and use it for storage next to my grill.

I love those old cubboards! There is a simple strategy I use. Sand, (clean and sand again if needed), Paint, (be creative with faux looks or fun colors, or apply your favorite self-adhesive paper, Seal (unless your paint was self-sealing , like all Rustoleum products. Sand, Clean, Paint, Seal. Works great!

Hi Nan, I love this link for inspiration. They share ideas like using wallpaper and decals, etc, and you can then choose designs that are tailored to your kitchen's design or theme:

You can also paint your old cupboards and change the hardware.
