Unless I am not understanding your question correctly, you'd just move the console table out of it's location at the entrance of your home and in it's place put the shoe rack. When entering the home, take off the shoes and put them in the shoe rack, the opposite when leaving. If there is some kind of structural detail, such as size of each piece of furniture, I am at a loss.
A picture would be very helpful. Do you have 1 or more to share?
Just use the shoe rack instead of the console
You just put it near the entrance. If you also want to have a table, you could add a piece of wood to the top.
Hi parna, asssuming you wish to use the shoe rack for shoes, just place it where it will be used in the entryway. For convenience and if you have room, you may want to add a small chair or stool.
Not sure what you have and why you can't just use it as is. Add a wooden top if need be. If it needs to be stabilized add stronger legs. If you want it taller add longer legs. Adding a picture helps us know what you want.
your question is not very clear as to what you are trying to do- do you want to use a shoe rack instead of the console table in your entry way? if so just replace it where the table is now
Depending on the style, I would think you could add a top to it if you need a surface to drop things. Another option would be a shelf on the wall above it.
Are you looking for ideas to make the old shoe rack look more attractive in your hallway?
Could you please explain this please?. I really am not following.
A shoe rack usually has cubbies, just replace the console with the shoe rack. Post a picture that would make it easier to discuss.
Can you provide a photo of the shoe rack?! Need more details.
More Information might be helpful. Is there a size problem?
Fix it to the wall using brackets
You can put a glass over it.
Is it strong enough because you could just put a piece of wood on the top of it .
Can you install a shelf just above the shoe rack? That way you would have the best of both, a spot for shoes plus a place to set your keys, mail, etc on when you come in.
I would paint it and see if you can get little pull out containers that would fit in it for storage. You could decorate the top with a small plant and some decor items.
