Use the sleeve cuffs for the cuffs of you jumper, rest your wrist on the ribbing where you want the mitten to sit on your wrist. Then with your other hand draw around your hand include enough seam allowance to be able to sew around.
You can make a hat the same way, using the ribbing for the band of the hat. Measure from your forehead to the centre of the back of your head add approximately 4 cm, mark the spot. Measure the circumference of your head from your forehead around to the nape of your neck and back to your forehead. Allow a seam allowance. Cut up to be level with your mark. Gather the top and fix together then sew now the seam. Turn through. Unravel some of your remaining jumper and make a bobble.
