I just did one last week. It was fun and turned out great. It was an oak color (real wood). I sanded it lightly by hand because I wanted to distress it. After sanding, I used a candle to put the wax marks randomly on it. I then painted it a creamy white with two coats. When dry, I went back and lightly sanded so the places where the wax was looks like scratches. Did not paint top. Bought 2 inch foam for top, cut it right size, bought faux dark brown leather and covered top. Staples on undersized of top. Cost about $24.
