How would I upcycle a wood bread box?

I have a large oak roll top bread my husband made for our family of 5. There are only two of us now and it takes up a lot of counter space, yet I want to keep it. Is there a way to upcycle? Thank you.

With the right height table, you can make a little desk or secretary. You could even make it into a little potato bin.
You could paint it and plant flowers in it.
