I have the same, cut glass candle holders, the candles are about gone, I thought I would buy more candles and place in the holders, the cut glass is to pretty to toss out.
HI Andrea. I have a few on a shelf just as a display. I do like the idea of just putting another candle in it.
If you want to keep them you could buy couple of plants from a thrift store and stack them to make a cake stand or maybe two cake stands
Depending on the shape and size, what about q-tips or toothpicks?
I have seen some "candles" made of wood, marble, etc. that could look lovely. I have a number of leaded crystal candleholders that use when I have guests for dinner. I think the variety of heights along with a flower arrangement in the center looks fabulous!
I would clean them completely of all wax (you can put them in a very low heat oven - lowest possible! - on top of newspaper or paper towels to melt off wax). Polish them up and use for nice dinners.
Invest in some tall colored candles that coordinate with your tablecloths and dishes.
