I have inherited an old Wardrobe and am wondering what to do with it. I want to update it as something more functional

Question

It is probably about 6 ft 2 in. high. It has about 4 drawers on the left side and the top left has an opening with a mirror. On the right is a door that opens to a rod for hanging clothes. At the bottom is a storage area that it's only access is from the inside. Maybe a photo soon to post. Thinking of maybe a tv armoire???? Any ides

This is probably an antique. My son inherited one from his grandmother that was her mothers. The last coat of paint was dark, forest green...which by the way has a natural crackling from so many coats of paint! It is stunning! I have threatened him if he touches the finish! Does yours look like this one? We use it for storage (no, we do not store Bud light...use the compartmental box for fragile things).

You could make a small office nook out of it. Remove the hanging bar or use it to hang a multi-pocket organizer on and put a shelf for either a writing desk or laptop computer desk. You could paint the inside with magnetic paint for notes, pictures, etc.

@Sandy T - it might be easier to provide suggestions if you post a pic of your wardrobe. Wardrobes sold today are easily converted to entertainment areas. Chalk paint is popular today. But you could also strip it and use a lighter stain on it - to suit your decor. There is also a combination of stain and paint, if painting just be sure to use one that is intended for furniture. Wine Cabinet/liquor bar. I used an old buffet for mine, but I can see making one in old wardrobe...kinda hidden back in the day of prohibition.

If you have tablecloths/runners table scarves etc you can hang them in the hanging section and use the drawers for napkins, napkin rings, candles and table decorations.
