decopodge it. Put legs on it with old knobs.

Make it into a decorative mirror.
I turned old wine boxes into floating shelves. Decopauged the images on from an old calendar.
Yea, fill it back up with chocolate and send it to me. Immmmmm
use the shims in a alternating pattern looks very cool and use the box for tv remotes
OR you could send it, full of chocolate, to ME!!!🤗 🤗 🤗
Could you put colored fabric inside the lid to show through the cut out in the lid? Maybe even lining the rest of the box in fabric, like velvet, then using it for jewelry?
I think that I would glue some thin sponge into the box and then cover that with cream silk that is overly big for the box so that you have voluminous folds and creases of cream coloured fabric lining the box. Then I would display any shiny or bright jewellery in it to make it look mysterious as you can only see part of the jewelry. The shiny bits would draw your eye into the box but the lacy lid would partially hide what's inside. If you wanted to, I am sure you could mount it onto a wall with brackets, before lining it. You could also screw in some brass hooks if the back is thick enough. Then you could hang your jewellery inside it. The box looks a little but eastern so another idea would be to make a hanging spice box. I would varnish the wood with a clear shiny varnish so that it isn't difficult to clean. Then I would put in about two narrow shelves with a small lip on each shelf. Put in shiny glass bottles with strong smelling spices in to stock your Eastern Type Spice Box. If you wanted to, you could put a couple of open spice containers into the cupboard to allow the scent to permeate the box . You would need to see if you could obtain suitably sized bottles first. If the box is big enough and strong enough, you could even mount small LED lights under each shelf and under the top edge of the box to highlight the contents. Either way, I think that it is a wonderful box to highlight something special. I would try to emphasize the "Eastern" feel if the box. Enjoy your project.
