What can I do with a long metal fixture outdoors?

This was clearly wired and mounted on a wall somewhere. I found it a few years ago and haven't came up with the best way to use it in the garden. It has 2 metal brackets on the back I was thinking attach a wood sign to it and then plant something in the middle?

How about using it as a planter?

I'm thinking of using it as a display board of some sort. You can spray paint the surface... one or many colors...depending on your decor. Next, stain or use a dry cloth to wipe on acrylic paint to clothes pins. If you do not care for the clothes pin idea... feel free to use magnets. Now, simply clip on photos, artwork, coupons, messages or notes. You can even take an old, metal, thin, rectangular tin and glue magnets on the back of it and attach that to the metal structure & put pens/ pencils in it for note taking. Another thought: "tuck" air plants in it...in a variety of places on the metal display, once it is hung up. It would be a beautiful artwork of live dirtless plants. Send pictures once you decide what you want to do. I would love to see it!
