I want to cut pinecones, what is the best tool?

    Garden shears? Gardening knife? Paper cutter like the ones schools have.

    Just about any cutting tool strong enough to cut through the stem.

    I found a small hand tool with disks on it at Menards. It was lighter that regular drills with cutting disks and easier to handle. Just ask in the drill/hand tool department and tell them you want it for pinecones. THat is what I did and they had several for me to choose from. Also, I use a wire cutter by hand after using the cutting disk so far in. They cut easily after using the electric tool. Keep in mind, the older ones cut easier too, the new ones are harder to cut.
