I hate when that happens! Our neighbor decided he all of a sudden thought he was a good artist and seeing all the framed saltwater fish prints we have on our walls, decided to paint us a Redfish that looks nothing like a Redfish. I don't like cluttered walls, much less clutter, so it still lays on the buffet table in our living room. He is at our house at least 4 times a week, so I feel your pain. Stick it in the corner of a room for the time being, don't fret over it too much, you're being nice. (And what is that supposed to be...a table?!)

Maybe you can put it next to your barbecue and use it to hold platters. Stick some hooks in the edges of the flat piece to hang barbecue tools, or maybe use as a gardening table and cover with plastic tarp to “protect“ it! You could hang gardening tools also. Good luck

To use it: Remove the ball and bats on top. Put strips of Velcro on the top. Find a vinyl tablecloth or tarp you can live with. Measure and attach Velcro to the underside of the tablecloth or tarp. Put the table and the color together, and you have it covered to use as a side table that way, or to uncovered for use elseware. You could make a plaque out of the bats and ball and hang it on the house wall on the patio.

To give it away: Spray paint the base black and touch up any other scratches or dints. Find the nearest city with a Recreation Dept. Deliver this table to the Director’s office, with a simple card saying you are giving the table in honor of your friends, with gave the table to you. (If you like the limelight, make a big deal, ask the Director to plan a recognition, invite your friends as a surprise to them, and make sure the local press is invited in time for them to schedule it.) ☺️

If we don't need it we donate it. Only way to keep clutter at a minimum in a small house.

did your friend make this? What was then reason for the gift? What's its purpose? Was it a joke or a serious gift?

Perhaps you can gift it to a child who loves baseball? Thank your friend and explain that although you enjoyed receiving this amazing gift, the joy you felt when you gave it as a gift to this grateful child is a memory you'll cherish forever.

Can u cut the stand down take the top off and make a chair for a kids room. Use the bats as a back rest for the chair. Dont know if that would work.

Paint the base black and touch up any other spots. Put baseball "shirts" on the backs of kitchen or folding chairs. Fill your gift with ice and beer and sodas. Bring a t.v. outside, add another bigger table and invite everyone over for a carry-in potluck and the big game! Make it the center of at least one grand time. Suggest to your friend that it should be a travelling chest for the next host of a "garden game watch."

Or Store balls and other outside games in it or your outdoor bbq utensils?
