Need ideas for repurposing the slats from this closet door.

They measure 27 3/4 x 1. I removed the slats because there were a few that were broken. I have about 50 of them. Also need an idea for the closet door itself.
How about evenly spacing some of them back into the original door and creating a magazine rack or letter holder? A fresh paint job in a brighter color would do well also
I made a bunch of stars from shims last summer. These would make great stars! Just lay out 5 slats bas if you were drawing a 5 line star. Then go back and add glue where the points connect. I used binder clips to hold them in place til the glue dried. Painted red, white and blue, they'd look great on a fence this summer!
How about making picture frames?
Mail Sorter ~ Using an extra thick rectangle picture frame, attach the slats inside the back frame (where the glass goes) & put a backing on it. Attach a hanger to the backing to hang it on the wall above a desk or table.
How about removing every other one or two and using it for towels, thin blankets? Whatever you decide to do please share with us.
Can use the Door as a Photo display.. just use Chicken wire on the back. measure, cut and staple.... you can spray paint the whole project with any color paint..use pincer Clothes pins or paper clips to hang the photos. use it to display jewelry, other Framed photos, use it in the Garden to stake up vines for flowers etc.
Make a headband turning it horizontal.
