We cut down an old tree and how have a huge like 36" across, stump. Any cute ideas as to what we could do with it so we don't have to remove it?

    How high is the stump?

@Funnygirl It is only about 7" high but the roots have pushed it up much higher than the level ground below it. Really not pretty. I know we can have it removed but oh i dread the mess!!

You could carve a seat out of it and if it is big enough you could bore out a bit of the tree to make a hole for a plant. Just add soil and a fern. Nice place to sit and read.

We have lost many trees in the area where I live (due to drought conditions). One enterprising man carves trunks into artistic things (bears, Indian chiefs, etc). Also you can drill holes about three inches in diameter (more than one if the space allows) and plant succulents in the holes. Very little to care for and quite unique.

Put a roof on it and decorate it as a "Gnome Home".

I had one and created a flower bed around it and put a potted banana tree on top of the stump.
