One old west type wagon wheel.

It is in great shape and pretty large. Although I've had plenty of ideas for it in an outdoor setting, I would like something different / unique. Any suggestions?

What about using it as a base for some kind of lighting? You could hang it with chain or twine wrapped with ivy. I don't know how you would hook or install lights-I'll leave that to you-if it's not too big for this idea. Good Luck-and be sure to let us know what you decide on.

Hi Dee! Thank you. Since I want to use it outside, I thought of putting lilghts through it to make the front / back of the house a little more cozy looking. I would have stood the wheel up in the ground somehow. I've thought of flowers winding through there also. Still looking for something a bit different. But I really appreciate your suggestion. ;-)

Miriam: That is very clever. We had intended on doing our vegetable garden this year, but we had a sudden death in the family and are still grieving. Since we have four dogs now (we just inherited two large ones), we'll be putting that off until next year. I will give it some thought for something else, though. I have a side of the house that has nothing there and also two areas in the front that would be good. However, in keeping that idea in mind, I could lay the wheel down and plant other flowers in there. I was just hoping to have the wheel showing. But that's part of repurposing, too. Making a use for it. Thank you so much. I will keep something similar in mind. <3

Mary, I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you love whatever you decide to do. :) I'll keep an eye out for other wheel projects with the wheel showing. :)

Thanks for commenting about my mailbox1 Sorry for the death in your family. I lost my dad this year and am still dealing with his estate. I know how it can put a dent in productivity. By the the garden idea.....also would like to see it as wall art with photos of your family placed in between the spokes.

CeCe D: Thank you. I am really having a difficult time. He was my ex husband who lived next door and I've been taking care of him for years. We've had a wonderful relationship. It happened in a moment and he was gone. I was there. We had wanted to help him do his house and yard and he was all excited about the changes we were going to make. Even though our miind tells us life is short, the shock of things happening in an instant can be quite traumatic. I look forward to more of your posts. Thank you for your kind words. Hugs.
