Hi Ellen. I made a bunch as fire starters. I melted soy wax and added color and scent. I did green and red for Christmas then cinnamon and pine for the scents. You take wicking and wrap it around the pine cone and tie a loop on the top so you can dip it in the wax. Then I dip them and put them on wax paper. After they have dried I give them another dip. I keep them in a nice basket by my fireplace. They add a nice scent to the room especially for the holidays. They also make great gifts.

Spray paint them and make a wreath. Use heavy wire to attach them to a wire wreath frame.

I have seen them dipped in paint (colors of your choice) and a wooden stick glued to the bottom. Plop them into a pretty vase. They actually look like zinnias!

Or, just put them in a bowl or basket.

  • I've seen them bleached lately and tossed in a tray or bowl. They looked so cool!
