You can do this gadi! I would try and use both a glue and a structural connector (e.g. either using plastic ties or drilling in screws). You can use plastic zip ties and/or plastic glue to hold it together. Personally I would consider just using the zip ties they are very strong and properly placed will hold them together for a vey long time.
Thanks for the milk crate ideas, Janet! Gadi, I agree with the zip tie idea. Use plenty of them. You can cut them off the crates if you ever want to rearrange them. But please, please, please find a way to secure them to the wall. Wouldn't want a surprise avalanche in the middle of the night!
Bolt and screw them together.
