Call your local dump, you can get the # from town hall. See if they will take it. If you have bulk pick-up in your area, find out the dates. This is usually 2-3 times a year. Try a plumbing company, they might take it for parts.

    Hi Bea,

The best way to dispose of old toilets is to recycle them. Recycling facilities usually crush the porcelain and turn it into concrete for roads or sidewalks. This can be done by first contacting your city's recycling center or water conservation office and asking if such a recycling program exists. Look for a recycling facility near you! ;)

I wouldn't. I would contact your refuse folks for a pick-up. Unless you break it all up and use the pieces for a mosaic or something similar, for sanitary reasons, I would consider it trash.

Unicycle. I like it. You cannot make a unicycle from an old toilet.

Ebbjdl is correct. In my experience no one will take a used toilet to recycle it. Passers-by will take nearly anything usable that I put at the end of my driveway. No one would pick up the like new toilets I put there until bulk trash pickup took them away.
