What can be done with a really old wooden barrel

I have a really old wooden barrel it is small 40 inches high and the metal on it is rusted. I am not sure how old or valuable if at all it is but I want to do something interesting with it. I have walking canes and hiking sticks in it right now.

If you are into decorating gardens I would make a planter out of this. Sounds interesting.

Put a cushion on the top and make a seat. Paint the barrel to match the cushion

If you have a cat or small dog, make a cushion to fit inside and there you go! One happy cat/dog

I love old barrels. I have one on my porch that is about 40 inches tall. I use it as a table for different seasonal items and set my morning mug of coffee on it before leaving the house. Mine has a top but you could use a round cut of wood or even a plate to make a top if you do not have one already. I love the stool idea and would suggest adding sand or something heavy in the bottom to help balance the weight of a person moving around on the seat area. You might wrap burlap around the rusted metal if it isn't appealing to you. You could even change up the burlap with seasonal wide ribbon or different sorts. Enjoy!

Go for Multi use of the old small barrel. I recommend cutting thin plywood board for circular top add a cushion and use the inside to store anything you want or need.
