If you have a player for them, donate them to a homeless shelter to use.

I've found older folks love those VHS tapes, when one of my clients passed away they were grabbing up those VHS tapes as quick as possible especially if they are the old 40s black and white movies. I donated some to our Alzheimers Day Program, and elder care homes.

You can transfer them to DVDs too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Au1JOnQ8lK4 I picked up a couple of those combo recorders at the thrift store

Donate them to a nursery school that still has a VHS machine.
