Whatever you decide to do just don’t try to cut it, or alter its shape. It is most definitely made of tempered glass. This means it will shatter into a billion pieces if you try.

It depends on its size, but look around at yard sales for other bases/tables you can cover with glass or make your own - usually it is the glass that is missing. I've seen bases made from old wooden spools, lg paint buckets painted or covered in wood (add sand, pretty stones or concrete for weight), small engine blocks, wood chairs (backs cut down), barstools and anything else you can imagine. As far as decorating it, consider painting the underneath side with acrylic or glass paint. Tape a design on the top, mix liquid white glue 1:1 with black paint and trace design using a squeeze bottle, then after it dries, paint in between the lines. Be sure to finish with a clear coat to seal and protect it. Check out tutorials here on Hometalk!

    My personal fav! Stencil it!

Or do a faux stained glass on it and hang it !

Or perhaps you could glue glass beads onto it and do a mosaic. Dollar Tree sells those half glass beads in different colors.

Draw you a pattern on the glass and fill it in with glass beads .

    Viola! You’re an artist!

You could also put pictures on one side

then frame them out with paint or beads. You’ll have a

    “ Circle Of Love”

You could even get a clock attachment, place your pictures in a clock pattern, and make a clock .

    “ There’s Always Time for Family “

or “ Family is Never a Waste of Time”

Good Luck ☘️! And Have Fun!

Let me see what you come with I’m curious!

I decoupaged this piece of round glass. It is not tempered but the edges were smooth. I think it was maybe up to 24" in diameter. This piece was meant to be hung. Contrary to what Imjhale says; all glass is painted from the back, you can follow her directions for the design but do so on the back (and remember it would be in reverse) after that is dried, paint whatever background color you like also on the back. Then the finished top is cleaned with windex or whatever. The work on this piece is all done from the back.
